A 42 meters in 160 cm ceramic tile work based on the principle of Persian seven colours art tiles. And also, 42 meters in 50 cm metal/light sculpture acting as the tunnel's light fixture. There are 1656 pieces of 20 by 20 cm ceramic tiles.
The artistic concept of the tile is inspired by many factors such as cultural, anthropological and local aspects of the tunnel and the area. I have also considered the details of the school children and the reference group's drawings, and that's why you can identify some parts of the school children's drawings in abstract form in my design. That's actually where the name comes from.
The art design has been printed in the production phase using modern ceramic printing on high-quality Italian porcelain tiles.
The high-resolution image transfer technology used in this project is not UV or sublime printing. Constellations, stars, moons and the light from the sky are the inspiring factors behind the artistic design of this part.
The light sculpture provides lighting for the tunnel. Acts as wall-wash light on the tiles. And adds light effects to the plane wall opposite the tile work. The rays of lights shining through the geometric patterns in the light sculpture and the shadows give an extra dimension to the entire project.
The light sculpture is made of a 3 mm thick mirror-polished metal sheet. The technology used is laser cut.
